A (very) Brief History of MaltingsFest
MaltingsFest has been running since 1993 and was originally held in the Tuckers Malting Building next to Osbourne Park. Since 2018 the festival has been held on the park and attracts 1000's of beer lovers over the course of the weekend.
A Beer Festival and a Competition
On the Thursday afternoon of MaltingsFest all of the cask and keg beers are judged to crown the overall Champion Beer.
If you think you know your beer and would like to take part in the judging then you can apply to be a judge.
Organisers
MaltingsFest is organised by SIBA (SW) by a group of voluntary committee members made up of SIBA brewers and local beer enthusiasts. The organising team are helped by an army of volunteers. If you'd like to help out (either organising the festival or serving behind the bars) please get in touch.
SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers and Associates)
SIBA is a trade organisation for Independent Brewers. All SIBA brewing members are independently owned.
